Don Holmquist, MA, LIMHP

Don was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and has an intense interest in individual, familial, and community mental health. He has been in the health care field for 35 years. He received a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry with a minor in Portuguese from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He then went to Respiratory Therapy School in Lincoln and finished through California College of Health Science. He worked in physical health care in Respiratory Care, Cardiology, Cardio-dialysis, drove an advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) vehicle and provided ACLS duties for King Air Jet flights, and taught advanced cardiac life support at the Lincoln Medical Education Foundation. He finished his physical health care experience working in cardio-vascular perfusion, working in cardio-thoracic surgery.

Don went back to graduate school and received a Master of Arts (MA) in Counseling, became a LMHP, a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor (LADC), and became a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC). He is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and Certified Family Trauma Professional (CFTP). Don has supervised clinical interns working toward LMHP and LADC licensure. Don has been a Nebraska Certified Mediator for two decades, with certificates in General Mediation, Family Mediation involving divorce and/or Parenting Plans, Victim Offender Mediation, and Large Group Facilitation. He also was a family group conference coordinator at The Mediation Center.
