Kelley is a Lincoln native and graduated from UNMC as a registered nurse in 1994. She worked several jobs as a nurse and while she enjoyed them all her favorite was the position in the ICU at Lincoln General Hospital. Kelley received her APRN in 2004 and is now dually certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a family practice nurse practitioner and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Kelley first began working in rural communities as a nurse practitioner. She also was the primary provider at the City Mission Medical Clinic, which she loved. In her time there, they served over 15,000 people across many states. While at the City Mission, Kelley also spent time mentoring both nursing and medical students. Kelley says her favorite part of the work she did was getting to know people and helping people from all walks of life. She especially enjoyed working with the most vulnerable populations which included immigrants/refugees, uninsured and underinsured.
